Ensemble “Momo” was founded in 1991. It teaches singing to children from age 3 to 15.
Teachers: Dagnija Kravale (founder and artistic director), Dace Kravale (choreographer and manager of creative projects), Elīna Sēja-Birzaka (preschool and elementary school age group teacher), Kristīne Tomiņa-Stafecka (vocal couch, accompanist and teacher to the oldest group).
“Momo” has chosen 3 main directions of action:
- Development of a capella singing
- Production of musical plays
- Musical work with youngest children (age 3 – 4)
They have created many plays during long period of time e.g. “Labo domu Ziemassvētki”, “Taureņu vasaras”, “Runcis Francis”, “Burvju rotaļas”, “Burvju skaitļi”, children opera “Baltrozīte un Sārtrozīte”, international projects etc.
Ensemble “MOMO” works together with different children groups of VEF Culture Palace – TDA “Zelta Sietiņš”, dance group “Ritms”, circus studio “Jaunība” and vocal pop-group “Poppy”.
Their repertoire mostly consists of songs specifically composed for the ensemble by Latvian composers like Jānis Strazds, Agita Kaužēna, Dace Ivanova, Anita Rezevska.
